How to Start Streaming Your Team on SportsEngine Play in Three Easy Steps

In today’s fast-paced world, Gen Z and Gen Alpha want instant ways to make an impact. How can they stand out to professional or college sports recruiters? Live streaming is the key! Here are three simple steps to get your team set up for success.

1. Set Up Your SportsEngine Play Account

The first step to stream your games is setting up your SportsEngine Play account. You're halfway there if you’re already using SportsEngine HQ for your team or club! SportsEngine Play integrates seamlessly into your existing SportsEngine tools, allowing you to manage streams from the same platform where you handle scheduling, rosters, and communication.

Here’s how to get started:

If you already have a SportsEngine account, simply log in with your existing credentials. If you don’t have an account yet, creating one is easy—just sign up with your email, and your teams will automatically link once you log in. You can access SportsEngine Play using any of the links below:

Once you're logged in, you’ll have access to a user-friendly dashboard to manage your upcoming streams, upload on-demand content, and even monetize your games. For a deeper dive into the benefits, check out this article on the launch of SportsEngine’s live broadcasting solution.

2. Gather the Right Streaming Equipment

You don’t need a full broadcast studio to stream your games. However, having the right equipment ensures your stream looks professional and runs smoothly. Here's what you'll need:

  • A camera: Any HD camera will work, whether it’s a smartphone, a GoPro, or a more professional setup.
  • Tripod or Mount: Use a tripod or mount to keep your camera steady.
  • Stable Internet Connection: A wired internet connection or strong Wi-Fi will prevent interruptions to your stream.
  • Streaming Software or App: Download the SportsEngine Play app for iOS or Android for easy mobile streaming, or you can use other streaming software if you prefer to broadcast from a camera or computer.

Testing your equipment setup before game day is crucial to resolving technical issues. If you're curious about best practices, this guide will walk you through all the details you need to ensure everything runs smoothly.

3. Start Streaming

Now that your account is set up and your equipment is ready, it’s time to start streaming! Here’s how:

  • Open the SportsEngine Play app or access the streaming dashboard from your account.
  • Select the event or game you want to stream from your schedule. If the game isn't listed yet, you can manually create a new event.
  • Choose the stream quality and settings based on your internet connection and camera quality.
  • Hit the “Go Live” button, and your stream will start broadcasting to all the fans, family, and even scouts watching at home.

You can also share the stream link directly from the app, so your community knows where to tune in. SportsEngine Play gives you control over who can view the stream—whether it’s private for team members or public for everyone.

"Streaming our games with SportsEngine Play has been a game-changer for our club. Parents who can’t attend games love being able to watch from home, and the ability to share highlights has helped our athletes get noticed by scouts. It’s simple to use and fits right into the tools we’re already familiar with." – John D., Youth Soccer Coach

Bonus Tip: Learn How to Monetize Your Streams

Did you know you can generate revenue from your team’s live streams? With SportsEngine Play, you can monetize your streams by offering paid access or accepting donations. This is a great way to fundraise for your team or club, helping cover costs like uniforms, travel, or equipment.

One fantastic example of a youth sports facility embracing technology is Homefield Kansas City. Their partnership with SportsEngine has elevated their operations and provided a better experience for families and athletes alike.
